Is Stan Store worth it? What 244 real Stan Stores sell, and what they charge
By the Crato team · Data collected Oct 2026 · 7 min read
The short answer
Stan Store is worth $29 a month if you sell at least a few products every single month. It isn't worth it while you're still waiting on your first sales.
We opened 244 live Stan Stores and logged every product on them, 2,242 in total. The typical store sells 4 paid products at a typical price of about $30. So one sale a month roughly covers the plan. The months with zero sales are what cost you: $29 each, whether anyone buys or not.
If you're in that early stage, a store with no monthly fee (like Crato's free plan, which takes 5% only when you sell) costs nothing until money comes in. Once you sell more, Crato Pro is $19 a month with 0% per sale, the same deal as Stan for $10 less. Pick the right Crato plan and you keep more than on Stan at every sales level in our table.
What we did
In October 2026 we searched Google for public Stan Stores across common creator niches: fitness, nutrition, coaching, Notion and Canva templates, UGC, planners, art, and more. That gave us 255 store links.
- 11 of them (4%) were gone, returning a "page not found".
- The other 244 loaded, and we recorded every product block on them: its type, price, and any sale price.
This isn't a random sample of all 85,000 Stan creators. Stores that show up on Google are probably more established than average, so if anything, this data flatters Stan. Full method is at the bottom.
The typical Stan Store, in numbers
| What we measured | Result |
|---|---|
| Stores studied | 244 |
| Products and links logged | 3,356 |
| Paid products | 1,928 |
| Free items (freebies, waitlists, opt-ins) | 314 |
| Paid products in the median store | 4 |
| Typical price in the median store | $29.99 |
| Median price across all paid products | $27 |
| Paid products under $20 | 43% |
| Paid products under $10 | 31% |
Two things stand out. First, most stores are small: a handful of products, not a catalog. Second, prices are low. Nearly a third of everything for sale costs less than $10.
What sells on Stan Store
Digital downloads dominate. Calls and coaching are the second big category, and they're priced much higher.
| Product type | Paid items | Median price | Stores offering it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Digital downloads (guides, ebooks, templates) | 1,371 | $17 | 200 stores (82%) |
| Custom services (done for you, coaching packages) | 245 | $120 | 48 stores (20%) |
| 1:1 calls | 135 | $150 | 58 stores (24%) |
| Courses | 121 | $97 | 53 stores (22%) |
| Memberships | 33 | $97 | 20 stores (8%) |
| Communities | 9 | $37 | 9 stores (4%) |
| Webinars | 14 | $25 | 11 stores (5%) |
71% of all paid products are downloads, and more than half of those downloads (57%) cost under $20.
By product name, the most common words were:
- guide: on 85 stores
- coaching or calls: 80 stores
- bundle: 38 stores
- templates: 38 stores
- planners and trackers: 37 stores
- ebooks: 39 stores
- meal plans and nutrition: 29 stores
- AI and ChatGPT prompts: 24 stores
What this means for you
A $17 guide and a $150 call need very different sales volume to be worth a monthly fee. If your store is mostly downloads under $20, you need two or more sales every month just to cover Stan's plan. If you sell calls, a single booking covers it five times over.
How much should you charge on Stan Store?
Going by what other creators charge:
| If you sell... | Most creators charge around |
|---|---|
| A guide, ebook or template | $10 to $27 |
| A course | about $97 |
| A 1:1 call | about $150 |
| A membership | about $97 (one time or per period, depending on the store) |
Two more pricing habits were everywhere:
- Half the stores (122 of 244) show a crossed out "sale" price. About a third of all products (34%) are listed with a discount. It's so common that it no longer stands out.
- 27% of stores give away a freebie to collect emails, usually a free guide or checklist. That's a good habit no matter which platform you use.
How much do Stan Store creators make?
Stan doesn't publish per creator earnings, and we can't see sales from a public store page. Here's what is public:
- Creators have earned over $600 million on the platform as of August 2026, across about 85,000 active creators. (Contrary Research)
- Creators made $67 per sale on average in 2025. (Contrary Research)
- Stan lost about 13% of its customers each month as of 2024, which Contrary works out to roughly 81% of a year's starting customers gone within 12 months. (Contrary Research)
That last number matters most. Lots of people try Stan, pay for a few months, and leave. The most likely reason is the one in the short answer: paying $29 in months when nothing sells.
Our own data points the same way. 17 stores (7%) had no paid product at all, and another 29 had only one. That's 46 stores, about 1 in 5, paying a monthly fee for a store with one or zero things to buy.
Is Stan Store worth $29 a month? The math
Here's what a creator keeps in one month selling a $30 product, the typical price in our data.
| Sales in the month | Stan Creator ($29/mo, 0%) | Crato Free (5%) | Crato Pro ($19/mo, 0%) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | -$29 | $0 | -$19 |
| 1 ($30) | $0 | $27 | $10 |
| 5 ($150) | $115 | $137 | $125 |
| 10 ($300) | $259 | $273 | $269 |
| 20 ($600) | $548 | $547 | $558 |
| 30 ($900) | $836 | $820 | $846 |
After platform fees and US card fees (2.9% + 30¢ per sale). Rounded to the nearest dollar.
The line where it flips is $580 a month in sales. Below that, a 5% fee costs you less than Stan's $29. Above it, a flat monthly plan wins. Crato Pro is $19 with 0% per sale, so above $380 a month it beats Crato Free, and it stays $10 a month under Stan at every level.

Where Stan Store is better
Stan is a solid product, and for some creators it's the right pick.
- It's proven. Around 85,000 active creators and years of history.
- Creator Pro ($99/mo) adds email marketing, upsells and other tools that a small store doesn't have.
- A mobile app for managing your store from your phone.
- A big community of Stan creators sharing what works, plus an affiliate program. 18% of the stores we studied had a "Stan referral" link on them.
If you already sell well over $580 a month and use those tools, stay.
Who should switch, and who shouldn't
Stan is likely worth it if you:
- sell calls, courses or coaching, where one sale covers the month
- make more than about $580 a month, consistently
- use Creator Pro's email and upsell tools
A no monthly fee store is likely a better fit if you:
- are still building up to your first steady sales
- mostly sell downloads under $20
- have months with zero sales
- want to try selling without a bill before you know it works
Thinking about cancelling Stan Store?
Before you cancel, do these four things, whatever you move to:
- Download a copy of every product file you sell.
- Export your customer and email list.
- Write down your product titles, descriptions and prices.
- Build the new store first, and switch your bio link only once it's live.
That way nobody who taps your link lands on a dead page.
Try a store with no monthly fee
On Crato you can sell guides, courses, memberships, calls and live sessions (booked through Google Meet and synced to Google Calendar), and print on demand merch. Payments land in your own Stripe account and go to your bank.
- Build a free Crato store. No card needed.
- Add one product, ideally your best seller.
- Share the link once.
- If it sells, move the rest. If it doesn't, you've paid nothing.
